Al Said, owner Sultan Qaboos of Oman

The luxury yacht was code named Project Sunflower and has been developed and manufactured at Lürssen. The luxury yacht has been delivered in March 2007 to his Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman. It is currently the world's third largest super-yacht.

Yacht-spotters worldwide were surprised when the name board was revealed, since they were convinced the yacht was going to be the new Kingdom 5KR. Al Said replaces a far smaller yacht that had been in use for 26 years. (The monarch donated that yacht to the ministry of tourism, which has her registered as Loaloat al Behar a passenger ship.)

Dubai, owner Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Dubai is the current name of a luxury yacht currently owned by the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai and the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. This yacht has a length of 162 meters (524 feet) and is the second largest yacht in the world after Eclipse.

Al Salamah, owner Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz

1999 owned by Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Defence Minister and son of the late King Fahd of Saudi Arabia. At the time of its construction, it was the second largest motor yacht in the world. It is currently the 5th largest in the world.

The mega yacht was designed and build by the German shipyards HDW, but has been finished by Luerssen shipyard. The original project name was Mipos short for “Mission Impossible” as an optimistic reference to the fact that her owners wanted her delivered so quickly and to such high specifications.

The yacht is powered by two 8770 hp MTU diesel engines, and with a top speed of 21.5 knots (39.8 kms/hour), has eight decks, 82 rooms, 8,000 square meters of living space, 3,300 square meters of teak decking and an estimated crew of 96.

Al Salamah yacht features: helipad, Jacuzzis, cinema, motor-launches and interior design by Terence Disdale. The yacht was also the second owned by a member of the Royal Family; their first yacht was the Prince Abdulaziz, which had been built in 1984.

Prince Abdul Aziz, owner King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

The yacht is one of the Royal Yachts of Saudi Royal Family. The owner is King Abdullah king of Saudi Arabia. This stunning yacht has kept the atmosphere of the old generation. The yacht was designed by Maierform and built in 1984 in the shipyard of Helsingor Vaerft in Denmark. The length of Prince Abdul Aziz is 147 meters (482 feet) with a top speed of 22,6 knots

Rising Sun, owner Larry Ellison and David Geffen

Rising Sun is a luxury yacht designed by the late Jon Bannenberg, and built by Germany's Lürssen, is currently co-owned by Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation, and David Geffen. The yacht is the 6th largest in the world with a length of almost 138 meters (453 ft). It reportedly cost over US$200 million to build.

The luxury yacht has the following features: Helicopter pad, 82 rooms on five stories with a total living area said to be in excess of 8,000 square meters, Onyx countertops, Jacuzzis, bathrooms, gymnasium/spa and sauna, wine cellar, master bath/bedroom, private cinema, teak-layered deck space, basketball court on the main deck.

The yacht is powered by four MTU 20V 8000 M90 diesel engines giving an output of 36,000 kW (50,000 hp). Four propellers that enable it to reach a cruising speed of 28 knots (52 km/h)

Eclipse, owner Roman Abramovich

The yacht has a length of 170 meters (560 ft) this makes the Eclipse the world's largest private owned yacht, 11 meters (36 ft) longer than the world's previous biggest yacht Dubai, which belongs to Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai.

The luxury yacht has been constructed at Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, Germany. Eclipse was launched on 12 June 2009. Her initial cost was estimated at € 340 million (circa $485 million US), but a September 2009 report indicated that final costs could approach $1.2 billion US (€ 800 million).

Al Mirqab, owner Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani

The yacht's was designed by the German company Kusch Yachts and build by Peters Schiffbau in Germany. The interior design was done by Andrew Winch. During construction the project was known as Project May. They gave the vision of the 2nd most beautiful yachts of the world for 2008, according to Forbes Magazine. The yacht belongs to Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister - Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.

The luxury yacht has a length of 133 meters (436 ft) and can cruise at 18.7 knots with a maximum speed of 20.3 knots. The yacht Al Mirqab features: The yacht can accommodate 10 guests in 5 guest apartments with one VIP suite for the yacht owner. The apartments are large; each with their own bathroom, living room and double bedroom.

The yacht has 21 crewmembers. Some of the amenities on board include: a cinema, outside bars, inside and outside Jacuzzi, sunbathing places and a helicopter pad.

Octopus, owner Paul Allen

The luxury yacht was designed by Espen Øino Naval Architects and built by the German shipbuilders Lürssen in Bremen and HDW in Kiel. The interior was designed by American designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett.

Octopus is currently the world's eighth largest luxury yacht, owned by Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, to whom she was delivered in 2003. Octopus is the third largest super yacht that is not owned by a head of state, measuring a length of 126 meters (414 feet).

Octopus yacht features: Two helicopters on the top deck (one in front and one on the back), and a 19 meters (63-foot) tender docked in the transom (one of seven aboard).

The yacht also has a pool on board, located aft on one of her upper decks, and two submarines: one operated by remote control for studying the bottom of the ocean.

Side hatches at the water line form a dock for jet skis. Allen also owns Tatoosh, also one of the world's 100 largest yachts.

MV Savarona, owner Republic of Turkey

The MV Savarona (also sometimes M/Y, for motor yacht) is a luxury yacht. She was the largest in the world when launched in 1931, and remains with a length of 124 m (408 ft) still one of the world’s longest. She is owned by the Republic of Turkey and is currently leased by Turkish businessman Kahraman Sadikog­lu from the Turkish State.

Named for an African swan living in the Indian Ocean, the ship was designed by Gibbs & Cox in 1931 for American heiress Emily Roebling Cadwallader, granddaughter of John A. Roebling, engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge. The ship was built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, Germany. The luxury yacht cost about $4 million ($53 million in 2006 ).

In 1938, the Turkish government bought the yacht for ailing leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who spent only six weeks aboard before dying a few months later. In 1989, she was chartered for 49 years by Turkish businessman Kahraman Sad1ko­lu. Over three years, his firm completely refurbished her for about $25 million, removing the original steam turbine engines and installing modern diesel engines.

The ship was rebuilt at Tuzla Shipyards in Tuzla, a suburb of Istanbul. Now the ship serves to famous and important guests and helps to keep the memory of Atatürk alive.

The luxury Savarona features a swimming pool, a turkish bath, a 282-foot (86 m) gold-trimmed grand staircase that survived from her original construction, a movie theater, and a library suite dedicated to Atatürk, which is furnished with many of his personal artifacts.

The luxury yacht is available for charter for $200,000 to $400,000 per week, which includes the crew but not provisions.
